UPDATE: Two etpromapscripts for Warbell for you server admins to modify Warbell if you like to. They are aimed at improving gameplay for simple public (mapscript II) and high skill servers (mapscript I).
Axis are trying to mess in the occult again, and do real nasty things. Allied special forces took over the occult site in a raid. Now the Axis attack to get back control over the old Abbey and finally raise the evil Wargod. Allies are on the mission to save the world from this of course.
For those of you that want to change Enemy Territory ever so slightly, so that you can have an even more realistic experience will want to download this mod! With the RS Mod (or Real Stuff Mod) you will now be able to enjoy your WWII battles and skirmishes with a more realistic sounding weapon, as well as the weapon itself looking more authentic! Jaymod 2.0.1 has been released to the public. There are an incredible amount of fixes, changes, and additions from version 1.4. Some of the most significant are:
- Winchester M97 Shotgun - Poison-gas mines and grenades - S-mines (bouncing betties) - Fully integrated throwing knives - Efficient file-based XPSave (binary) - Extended mapscripts - Level 5 skills - Many more shrubbot commands - Complete Macintosh support - Updated Omni-bot support - CPU-specific optimized server binaries
Also, we are introducing a new versioning scheme that will allow further flexibility in adding new features and maintain stable versions at the same time without conflicting with each other. Because of this, the 1.5 release has been re-numbered to the 2.0 series.
A rather serious crash bug was found shortly after the release of RC2, so we fixed and released a new version to replace it. Anyone using RC2 is strongly encouraged to upgrade as soon as possible. There are also a few more minor bugfixes which can be found in the changelog.
The latest release candidate of 1.5 has been released to the public. This version has many small enhancements and fixes several bugs from beta6, which include fixed Omni-bot 0.52 support, cpm command, and auto-weapon switching glitches.
Added in this version are several new weapon types. The skill system has been upgraded with an extra level for each skill (5 total now). Each class gets several optional enhancements, and some classes unlock the new weapons.
Engineers can use two new mines at level 5. The S-mine, a.k.a. the "Bouncing Betty", jumps in the air when tripped and explodes after a small delay. The poison gas mine also jumps in the air when tripped, but releases a deadly gas that suffocates victims while in its mist.
Covert Ops and Soldiers get a poison gas grenade at level 5. This canister looks much like the smoke grenade, but insteads spews out the same poison gas that the gas mine does.
Bundled with this release is a new Linux/BSD startup script that supports start/stop/restart/stat operations and is quite easy to set up.
The latest beta from the 1.5 series is available for download. Included in this version is the new Winchester M97 shotgun, hardware banning, several new shrubbot commands, and many more changes you can read about in the changelog. Omni-bot 0.52 support is also included.
With the beta 6 release, Mac support is available with this and all future versions of the mod thanks to donations from the community.
Something new we are trying out are optional CPU-specific optimized server binaries for Linux and Windows which when matched against a particular CPU model will take advantage of additional processor capabilities. These are a seperate download and are just a drop-in replacement to the bundled server binary. Note if you run a CPU-specific binary on an incompatible CPU, the binary will fail with an illegal instruction error.
I released beta 5 to address a critical bug in beta 4 dealing with private messaging. Anyone who uses beta 4 is strongly encouraged to upgrade to beta 5 immediately. This bugfix is the only change from beta 4.
Version 1.5 beta 4 of Jaymod has been released. There are some important bug fixes and a few new additions, both server and client side.
A few tidbits from the changelog: Fixed a floating point roundoff error that would result in script errors. Added a seen database. Added killing spree records. Added XP capping. Added a new private message popup (i.e. chat popup).
